If you are a new business and looking for a credit card, chances are you want a small business credit card. Because you are a new business, resources may be limited as well as manpower. When you’re looking for that new card, you should consider the credit card services for a business that the issuer provides.

Credit card services for a business when looking for a credit card?

Sure. A small business credit card can provide you with more than extending credit. After all you are new and small. You may need all the help you can get.

Financial institutions understand the additional control and constraints a business needs over their credit. Business card offers vary just like personal credit cards, although some of the incentives are the same. However, various issuers go even further with their business credit card offers and add credit card services for a business.

When looking for a new small business credit card, you want to keep in mind that although you’re new and small, you don’t intend to stay that way. You want a credit card that can grow with you. Here are a few features to consider when looking for that new small business credit card.

- After the initial APR introductory offer, what is the regular interest rate?

- Is there a yearly fee?

- What is the line of credit and can it be increased as time goes by?

- Is there a limit to the number of credit cards that can be issued on the account?

- Do they offer airline mile points?

- Is there a cash rebate program?

- Do they have partnerships with leading retailers for office equipment and supplies so that they will offer discounts when using my business credit card?

- Is my account accessible online so I can manage my daily expenses?

- Is there an extended payment term for larger purchases?

- Does this offer include quarterly and yearly reports?

- Can this information be transferred directly to my company’s accounting software program?

- Is there a choice of how I receive the summary of my expenses?

All of these benefits are not offered for every business credit card. But, the right combination for your situation can save you time and money. Choosing the right small business credit card can add significantly to your bottom line.

You're looking for a merchant account. A lot of companies offer merchant services.

Here are a few out of thousands of banks that offer merchant accounts-

    Chase Bank
    Bank Of America(My preferred choice)
    PayPal

Keep in mind that there are NO free merchant services and you will have to purchase the equipment(averages $250) and have either a phone line or a high speed internet connection available. And merchant accounts are subject to credit approval.

And most average no more than $45 per month with a small interest charge on each time you swipe a card.

Many banks in your area offer merchant services. Choose the bank that you primarily use for your personal/business checking accounts.

The way it works is when someone uses their credit or debit card to pay for what you offer, the funds go into your bank account, so that's why it's best to use a bank in your area.

I would see if there was a way to work with pay pal… if they had a way to call over the phone to confirm… you wouldn't have to use a machine.

These credit processing companies rip off small business.

Do your homework before picking one… and don't get into any contracts…. if you can help it.

    Watch the fees and percentages…
    be wary of machine leases.

Here are a few things to try.
Clear your history, temporary files (this one takes a while – wait for the hourglass to stop) & cookies, restart the computer and retry. . Here is the HELP link for how to do this in different browsers: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/settings/settings-13.html

Also: If it is STILL doing it, scripting may be disabled in your Internet Explorer. This may happen due to updates. To enable scripting, follow the instructions on this HELP page (it is for Messenger, but it may help here as well): http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger75/entertainment/entertainment-35.html

Or try this link to switch back to Classic:

    Hi,
I have been a customer of Wachovia for almost 3 years now. I moved from Europe to the US… From day one, i just accumulate disappointment with Wachovia. The customer service is really poor if not existing….They became really interested when i transferrd my Euro to the US and opened a Money Market…On top of that it took me 2 years to get a credit card… Now I'm hunting for a mortgage and the story continues. Poor support and answers.
I will switch to Bank Of Amercia in the next 3 weeks. The rational behind that is only based on testimony from more than 10 people close to me….
This is my personal experience. Sure we will find people with opposite experience.
Note that I heard that Wachovia use to be a great bank who did care about its customers but since Wachovia has been bought by First Union (bad bank reputation), the customer is not the priority anymore…
    Hope it will help

    1. Fees — explain in plain simple English the fees. Merchant account bills are worse than telephone bills in terms of the fees that you find

    2. Chargebacks — what are the recourse of the merchants? Once a customer complains, a chargeback is immediately filed irregardless of the fact that the amount was refunded. This month, we had a case where we got slapped with a $20 chargeback fee for a transaction that we refunded a day after the transaction came in due to suspicions of credit card fraud (our hunch proved correct). But we were already charged with the chargeback fee and our merchant account provider does not want to refund us.

You can also try http://www.Propay.com You pay an annual fee (amount depends on package you choose) and a small percentage of each purchase.
