My older brothers would tell me what to play. I remember how cool it was to have the "Right of Way" or as I remember it, the firetruck card that gave me the right to go without stopping or slowing down and the "driving ace" card that protected me from accidents. I hadn't played this game in 40 years and just remembered it one day and on a whim bought it to play with my own children. As an adult it's a completely different experience. The first game my 11 year old son and I won easily getting the "Right of way" card and "Puncture proof tires" card. Yeah! great fun. The next game my 14 year old daughter and my wife ganged up on us ruthlessly. I didn't any special cards and they got all of them. I couldn't find any Go cards and when I was hit with an out of gas card there were no remedy cards to be found. . . This is when I realized that this is probably the reason we stopped playing it all those years ago. Too many hurt feelings. Just as soon as I'd find a remedy card my daughter would trounce me with another accident or flat tire or out of gas card. It was more of a relief just to forfeit the game than to subject myself to more punishment.
