Close The Credit Card The Right Way

Now, since we have e-shops and virtual shops we, consumers, are able to make purchases from these online stores using a credit card. This we can do by making use of the online store’s credit card payment approval facility. Once our online credit card payments are accepted and verified, the purchased goods are delivered to our doorstep. This is purchasing convenience at its best.
Having more and more e-shops popping up everyday, online credit card usage is becoming more popular than ever. The option to receive online credit card payments has brought an entirely new dimension to shopping, for both merchants and consumers. Now, you can both shop from the comfort of your home and get discounted products purchased on the internet. This is makes shopping far more pleasurable. Shopping on the internet, you have no need to worry about the weather, traffic jams or other things needed to shop outside your home. Instead you can go to an e-shop, select product/s, and make use of the merchant’s online credit card acceptance and approval facility, to make the payment for your goods. Then, all that is left to do, is wait to receive the products at your doorstep. Online credit card processing also makes starting an online business very easy.
As with almost anything else, credit card usage on the internet is not without its pitfalls. A pitfall of online credit card usage to guard oneself against is the possibility of online credit card fraud. Credit card fraud typically happens in two ways. The first way has to do with the online merchant that you are going to purchase goods from. This merchant may be a fraudulent merchant who takes your online credit card payment, but does not deliver the products to you. Moreover, they could use the credit card details you have put on the credit card payment form, for dishonest purposes. The second kind of fraud is committed by fraudsters who use spyware software and devices to intercept the details of online credit card payments. The spyware software captures keystrokes or takes screenshots of what you do on your computer and sends it to the spy. This type of online fraud is easily managed by using anti-spyware software designed to counter the effectiveness of spyware.
It is readily observed, the advent of online credit card usage gives a very useful purchasing option to consumers and merchants. However, caution must still be exercised when making online credit card payments. And, always remember, don’t access your bank accounts or make online credit card payments from internet cafes, unless you are absolutely sure the internet cafe is reputable and rightly credentialed.

Ideally you should never use more than 30% of your credit limit. Having cards that close to the limit does affect your score.

Well, that's not the object of you getting another credit line – ie Amazon, but if you can get a $40 dollars back on a 400 purchase – then you can do that – you don't have to pay any fees, if you pay for the item with your new credit card before they send you a statement. As far as I know there is no credit card company that penalizes customers for paying their accounts off within 2 days of a major purchase. You don't have to "cancel" the card afterwards – its too much trouble and wouldn't matter anyway – just don't use it anymore. Just get a kick out of them sending you a statement each month announcing that you owe Zero! Closing cards is more dangerous than not paying off accounts – sometimes on your credit report it doesn't state that you closed it – but there is a question mark about why it was closed. Gives future creditors bad vibes to see closed accounts. I've had accounts open for over 20 years with Sears and M.Wards & Penney's – that I never use.

@longbeards100 well they release mini addons. i like the game as it is but it needs far more content like walking styles, powers and costume pieces
December 26th, 2011 at 4:55 am
@VideoGameUploads Yeah you can play pretty much everything without playing. Just because some costume parts and travel powers are locked doesn’t mean there are parts of the game you can’t play. There’s no lie here. And seriously, Cryptic is awesome. I don’t get why you criticise so much when they work hard to provide so much free content.
December 26th, 2011 at 5:17 am
Sure, it’s got all that, but does it have addons?
No?
Back to other MMOs.

As Echo states, any attempt to use the dispute process will not get it off in a week.
You need to understand how Credit Reporting Agencies work. Their business is to gather credit information, and sell it to other businesses.
Creditors can post whatever they want to your credit report, as long as it's "fair and accurate". CRA's must delete this if it's shown to be innacurate. Otherwise, it's nearly impossible to delete the info.
However, they must edit or delete any information if the creditor tells them to edit/delete it. So the trick is to figure out how to get the creditor to do it.
In cases of an unpaid bill, you can negotiate to pay the bill in exchange for having your credit report fixed.
In your case, the account is closed. Kohl's couldn't care less about you at this point.
There are a few of the sleezier "credit repair" companies that would offer the creditor a payment in exchange to delete the report. OK, call it a bribe. But in Kohl's case, I don't know who you would contact to do it. The employee could most likely get into some trouble. But that's how the game is played.
At this point that may be your only method to remove it in such a short time, let along at all!

wish i had a more powerful pc T^T

Leave the account open just do not use them, by closing them it reduces your available credit to debt ratio which will severely hinder you credit score

@TheArmoredArmadillo get more creative lol electric came out recently they are taking their type with more archtypes though >_> prolly since they want us to buy the others over time
December 27th, 2011 at 10:49 am
He's an a$$.
They'll likely continue to consider the account "open" while you still owe a balance, but that doesn't have to stop you from cutting up the card.
Good luck.
December 27th, 2011 at 8:09 am
@BrynnXaus Oh yea , dont forget:
We have to play with pre-made arcetypes , and even then we cant use all of them
And Most ridiculous: we cant even use the fourms. Really? You’ve got to be kidding me.

December 28th, 2011 at 12:00 pm
this game has gotten better and I used to dislike it a lot. I prefer it over CoH now just because I can play how i want and don’t have to be forced into some hive mind grouping nonsense that CoH endgame turned into. Also CoH is pretty empty at about 3-6 am so there’s no way to group anyway. This games a better choice. Just turn off comic book outlining or whatever it is called in the menu, looks great.

Carrying credit card balances of more than 30% of your limit hurts your score. If you close an account, you lower your overall limit which could increase your debt percentage. If you don't carry balances, this doesn't apply.
About 14% of your score is based on length of credit. Closing your oldest account could lower your score if you don't have other accounts of similar age.
Frankly, I think keeping a card open just to bolster your score a couple points is bad. Having a stack of unused credit cards in the sock drawer is asking for problems with fraud and ID theft. You have to secure and monitor all those cards/accounts.
Also, many credit card companies will close inactive accounts after 6 months. In some cases, cards are now charging fees for inactive acounts.
If you don't use that store account, close it via letter. Request written confirmation that the account is closed and 0 balance. Keep that confirmation in your forever financial file. Closed accounts in good standing remain on your credit report for at least 10 years.

They are trying to retain customers. Call them back, be firm. Tell them you want to close the account. When they try the 20 questions, tell them you are not interested in answering questions, just close the account. They will do it if you are firm. Been there, done that.

@BrynnXaus And i think Cryptic is doing a great job with f2p, and i still enjoy champions.
December 29th, 2011 at 4:10 am
keep it open but don't use it. In fact, cut it up and then you won't be tempted.
This is because your credit score is hurt when you close accounts (it isn't considered a routine activity and closing it won't make those payment issues from the past disappear. So, you lose if you close it and gain a bit by keeping it open.
The age of your accounts helps your score. You can improve your score by paying your bills on time, keeping your balances low, and waiting… Time is a big factor.
Don't open new accounts, that hurts your score too.
When people tell you the % of FICO that is affected by certain activities – take it with a grain of salt. FICO's owners, Fair Issacs, has never released the formula for FICO scores and FICO changes.
The only way you can know is to watch what your actions do to your score and to look at a score analyzer which will give you ideas of how to improve your score, but not specific numbers on how it will change. That is not possible.
You can find score analyzers at any of the credit reporting firms, you typically have to pay for it though.
