I looked this over, and measured my necklaces, which include pearls, as well as chains with pendants. Ladies — we need 13 – 14 inches of hanging space, in order for the pendants not to hit the holder, or other necklaces. This one just comes up short . . . . by about 2-inches. Also, they could have designed it so that there would be hooks on both the door *and* the side of the necklace compartments — then, it could possibly hold up to 24 necklaces, which would make it usable. It’s a shame — because I would have gotten one for me and one for a gift . . . .
